Our Family

We are Evangelical (members of the Evangelical Alliance) and these values are a precious part of our identity:

  • Biblicism – Through the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, the God who is objectively ‘there’ has revealed universal and eternal truth to humankind in such a way that all can grasp it.
  • Christocentrism – God’s eternal Word became human in the historical man Jesus of Nazareth, who definitively reveals God to humanity.
  • Crucicentrism – The good news of God’s revelation in Christ is seen supremely in the cross, where atonement was made for people of every race, tribe and tongue
  • Conversionism – The truth of the eternal gospel must be appropriated in personal faith, which comes through repentance – that is, a discernible reorientation of the sinner’s mind and heart towards God.
  • Activism – Gospel truth must be demonstrated in evangelism and social scene

We are part of the Free Methodist worldwide church family and pursue the mission of the Free Methodist Church to make known to all people everywhere God's call to wholeness through forgiveness and holiness in Jesus Christ, to invite into membership and to equip for ministry all who respond in faith. We believe that the local church is God's instrument to transform society and affect our communities, our nation and engage with spreading His fame globally. As Bill Hybells puts it: “Its beauty is indescribable. Its power is breathtaking. Its potential is unlimited. It comforts the grieving and heals the broken in the context of community. It builds bridges to seekers and offers truth to the confused. It provides resources for those in need and opens its arms to the forgotten, the downtrodden, the disillusioned. It breaks the chains of addictions, frees the oppressed, and offers belong to the marginalized of this world. Whatever the capacity for human suffering, the church has a greater capacity for healing and wholeness. Still to this day, the potential of the local church is almost more than I can grasp. No other organization on earth is like the church. Nothing even comes close.”
